We are T-2 Months to National Falls Prevention Awareness Month 2024. Here are some important things you should know to prepare for your events this year:
- Check out our NFPAW Kick Off Call from July 2024! This call features speakers from APTA Geriatrics SIGs as well as major task forces around the theme of the 5Ms of Geriatric Care. Lots of important resources shared in this 1 hour presentation.
- The National Council on Aging (NCOA) has amazing resources for both professionals and the community.
- CDC has added several items to its current STEADI materials including success stories and other multi-media informational materials.
Be on the lookout for new BF SIG deliverables coming your way including:
- Balance and Falls in Older Adults with Neurologic Populations (toolkit)
- Multi-Speciality Management of Balance and Falls in PT Professionals (toolkit)
- Advocacy Campaign featuring pre-packed powerpoints for various audiences for you to to provide to your community co-workers, and local health systems!
